Nestled between two great ranges, the Ganesh Himal is a lovely choice for those who would like to get away from the ‘apple pie’ trekking routes. Home to the Tamang people, this unspoiled area is overlooked by most visitors to Nepal, but it generously rewards the few who chose it. The routes are not difficult, with only one pass at 4045m, but the mountain scenery is splendid, and there is an abundance of wildlife and more than 500 species of plants and 300 species of birds. There are also good opportunities for enjoying wildflowers and rhododendron forests in bloom in March and April.
