Overview

Mt Everest which is towered between Nepal and China border is challenging peak for expedition. Being the most famous and highest mountain in the world with the altitude of 8,848m from the sea level; also known as the roof of the world Everest is known for its unbeatable mystic beauty, mystery and obsessive mood. Nepali name of Mt Everest is “Sagarmatha” which means the Head Touching the Sky and in Sherpa" Chomolungma” which means Mother Goddess of the World. At the same time the name Everest was given to honor British Surveyor General to India Sir George Everest.

The south face of the mountain lies in Nepal whereas the north face lies in China’s autonomous state of Tibet. This peak was officially measured in 1956 during the Great Trigonometric Survey of British India government and during that time it was given the name Peak XV and the height calculated then was 8,840m. Later after few years the height was again calculated with great accuracy and it was found to be 8m off from then determined value making it the highest peak.

There are two commercial routes for summiting Everest one from the North ridge in the Tibetan side and one in the Southeast ridge in the Nepalese side. The southeast ridge on the Nepalese side of Everest is the way taken by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa who successfully conquered the summit in 29

th

May 1953 registering their name as the Hero of this adventurous trip.

Wildpath Adventure is giving finest service in the Everest Base Camp and other high camp of Everest from the southeast ridge in Nepal. Our guides are highly skilled with a long list of experiences in this profession. The climb is very challenging and can lead to some serious consequences if things go wrong. So while climbing it is best to hear and follow the guide and bring some serious level of guts.

KHUMBU ICEFALL:

Khumbu icefall is a highest ice bouldering obstruction in the path with evident insinuation of huge crevasses and treacherous making the trail complex and puzzled with high objective risk of falling ice. This portion is most challenging and dangerous part of the climb. We will start the climb through the icefall installing ladders across crevasses and along vertical ice walls for competent and easy climbing. The climb through the icefall is efficient and relatively safe especially in early morning before the sunrise when the ice is well frozen.

CAMPI (6,400m):

Camp I is situated in the plain area of infinite area of deep crevasses and mountain walls of covered by snow. The place is quite warm due to the reflection of sun. In the night we can hear deep muttering and cracking sounds of crevasses below our tent.

CAMPII (6,750m):

Camp II is located in the foot of Mt Lhotse’s wall through which we have to continue our climb. The weather here is quite good bud clouds roll from the lower portion of the Himalayan valleys to bottom of our camp. Occasionally the wind blows very violently here, such that it destroys our tents.

CAMP III (7,100m):

Our camp is set adjoining to the wall of Mt Lhotse. Here we will climb by the use of fixed ropes and with prior acclimatization we will reach camp IV. From camp III the use of oxygen cylinder is almost compulsory. On the way from camp III to camp IV we come across steep allow bands (sleepy rotten limestone) and after this the route goes through Geneva Spur to the east before finishing the flats of south col.

CAMP IV (8,400m):

This is the last camp of our expedition. From here the summit is just at the distance of 500m. This is the final and the most dangerous part o the whole climb. Here the wind blows violently. The usual and best route to get into the summit is through the narrow south- East Ridge; it is the same way used by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in the epic climb of 1953.
