Overview:

Siklis trek is often regarded as one of the most culturally rich and naturally blessed area in Nepal. This newly opened trekking trail gives us the real taste of villages all set beneath the majestic Himalayas. While trekking here we will come around the beautiful Gurung villages of Ghale gaon and Parche. We will get an opportunity to get familiar with the fathomless valleys surrounded by the regal Annapurna. Filled with topographical opulence the trail introduces us to the diverse topographical variance from lowland villages to Gurung village of Ghale gaon at 3000m as well as blooming forest of Rhododendron in the spring. Further the trail continues to the high alpine meadows where we can have a sudden encounter with the shepherds and their herd.  

The people living in the area follow Buddhism. Siklis village is situated just above the Mardi khola overlooking the Annapurna IV in the north and Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal in the east. The final point of the trek offers the magical view of Machhapuchhare. The area is also good for bird watching as it has dense forest offering an ideal habitat for different species of birds.

Itinerary Detail

Siklis Trek Itinerary:

Day 1: Kathmandu Arrival
Our local representative will be receiving you in Tribhuwan International Airport and transfer to the hotel room. Get freshen up in the hotel and come to our office to finalize the formalities. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing
Today we will visit some of the world heritage site located in Kathmandu which includes Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa and Hindu temple of Pashupatinath. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Drive to Pokhara(823m); 7hours of drive
Early in the morning catch a drive to a beautiful lake city of Pokhara. The drive takes most of the morning and early afternoon leaving evening time to explore Pokhara. Pokhara is an ultimate tourist destination offering threshold of natural and cultural heritage sites which includes lakes, caves, temples, stupas and awe inspiring mountain vista. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Drive to Bijaypur Khola and Trek to Kalikasthan(1370m); 5hours
Early in the morning catch a drive to Bijaypur Khola from Pokhara. From Bijaypur Khola we will start the trek through the rice fields and ascend through Rakhigaon to Chautara which has a resting place under a large papal tree. Witnessing the dumbfounding panorama we will climb the trail through Brahmin and Chhetri to Kalikasthan. We will set our camp above the village which offers the scenic vista of mountains, Begnas Lake and Pokhara city.

Day 5: Trek to Lamakhet(1680m); 6 hours
We will start the trek through the small villages settled by the people belonging to different ethnic group and rice growing terraces up to Mardi Khola. Today’s walk is quite easy. Crossing the villages of Bhaise and Nawaldanda we will ultimately reach to Lama Khet. Lama Khet is a serene place surrounded by lush green hill. Stay overnight at camp.

Day 6: Trek to Siklis(1980m);6hours
Today the trail stretches to a flat level along the river bank until you reach Khilan gaon. From Khilan gaon the trail gradually goes uphill for some distance and then goes steep up for some hours. In the route we will come along the village of Parju village and then ultimately to Siklis village. Siklis is one of the largest and oldest Gurung villages where the men are mostly deployed in Indian and British Army. Stay overnight at camp.

Day 7: Trek to Forest Camp (2200m); 5hours
We will start with the gentle uphill walk through the Rhododendron and Oak forest and then later the trail is flat which ultimately takes us to Forest camp. The place is surrounded by forest which offers the magical sound of chirping birds. Stay overnight at camp.

Day 8: Trek to Ghale gaon(2000m);5hours
Starting the walk through the Rhododendron forest today we will cross the highest pass of the trek. After crossing the pass the trail goes steeply downhill to Ghalegaon. Ghalegaon is a small village settled by Gurung ethnic group. Stay overnight at camp.

Day 9: Trek to Pokhara; 3hours

From Ghalegaon the trail gently goes downhill to Hyamgja(1070m), where we will catch a ride back to Pokhara. Stay Overnight at Pokhara in hotel.

Day 10: Explore Pokhara
Early in the morning we will drive to Sarankot to witness the magical view of sunrise over the Himalayas. After this we will return to our hotel have breakfast and walk to lakeside to treat ourselves with the magical moment where the reflection of Machhapuchhare Himal is seen in Few Lake. After this we will have the lunch and explore the different site of the city like David’s fall, Gupteswor Cave, Bindabasini Temple, World Peace Pagoda and end with the boating in Fewa Lake. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 11: Drive back to Kathmandu
Witnessing the villages, terraced slopes, green hills and furiously galloping Rivers we will retrace our path back to Kathmandu. We will arrive Kathmandu in the evening. In the remaining time you can do some family shopping.  Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 12: Farewell
Drive to airport at the time of departure for your onward flight.
