Overview:
Ghalegaun is a beautiful village located in Lamjung district approximately 21km northwest of Kathamandu and 12.5 northeast of Pokhara. Situated at the altitude of 2016m, Ghalegaun is extraordinary settlement of Gurung ethnic group who are known for their ultra hospitable nature. Ghalegaun is an modally iconic village placed in the lap of Lamjung Himal offering fine blend of natural beauty and virgin ethnic lifestyle. The Himalayan view of Buddha Himal, Himalchuli and Manaslu in the northeast, Mt Lamjung and Annapurna II in the north and Mt Maachhapuchhare and Annapurna is awe inspiring.
The early mornings haze, the beautiful Khudi and Midim rivers, beautiful rhododendrons; chirping sound of the bird will innovate your imagination. Blessed with chilly waterfalls Ghalegaon is a exotic village endowed with an unparallel scenic grandeur and also the home to renowned Gurkha Soldiers. Many old cultural folk dances like Jhyaure, Serka, Ghantu, Ghyabring and Ghandu are performed in special occasions accompanied by different musical instruments with dancers wearing traditional dresses. Itinerary Detail
Ghale Gaun Village Tour Itinerary
Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival
In airport our local representative will receive you and get transferred to the hotel. In hotel you will freshen up have some food and drive to our office for the briefing of your trip.
Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing
In the morning we will have the lunch and start to explore the historical city of Kathmandu. The places we will pay our visit are the holy temple of Pashupatinath which is located in the bank of Bagmati and the stupa of Bodhanath which dates back to 7th century. We will also visit the monkey temple of Swoyambhunath situated in the hilltop looking Kathmandu city and also visit Patan city which is known for its fine arts and architecture. Drive back to hotel have dinner and get to bed.
Day 03: Drive to Besisahar and walk to Khudi
Early in the morning catch a drive from Kathmandu to Beshisahar and walk to Khudi. On the way we will visit Siddha cave, Budhha monastery and Gurung cultural program.
Day 04: Hike to Ghale gaon from Khudi
We will continue our walk through the jungle to Ghale gaon/ Ghanapokhari. In the way we will see beauty river valley, magical view of setting sun and great Himalayan cultural dances. The place too offers the magnificent mountain panorama.
Day 05: Trek to Bhujung
We will start with a three hours uphill climb and two and half hours of downhill climb to Bhujung. Bhujung is a small but densely populated but very attracted village.
Day 06: Trek to Pasgaon
We will continue our walk through the jungle witnessing the small hydro project at Midieum River to Pasgaon. Pasgaon is a very beautiful traditional village known for its Handicraft and Buddhist monasteries. The village is very clean with comfortable hotels and lodges.
Day 07: Trek to Nagidhar
Continue the walk through the Jungle to Nagidhar. Today’s trek is quite an easy one. Nagidhar is a beautiful Gurung village at the altitude of 1900m adorned with invincible cultural practice and lifestyles. The village also has a Buddhist monastery and offers miraculous mountain scenery.
Day 08: Trek back to Pokhara
We will continue our walk through the jungle to Thumsikot where we will catch our ride back to Pokhara. The drive is very scenic blessed with flora and fauna in the route. In the drive we too get the glimpse of beautiful scenery around the Begnas Lake and other seven lakes in the vicinity. Stay overnight at hotel in Pokhara.
Day 09: Drive back to Kathmandu
Early in the morning catch a drive for Kathmandu from Pokhara. It takes around 7 hours. We will have our lunch in the route. In the evening in Kathmandu we can do some family shopping. Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 10: Farewell
At the time of your flight, transfer to Tribhuwan International Airport for you onward Journey.
